SABATTA - The Scream

Hey everyone! This is my first blog! I’m Yinka (vox and guitar) from Sabatta – which includes Hugo on Bass, Duncan on guitar and Justin on Drums.

So what’s so special about Sabatta?! Here’s how we see ourselves:

“Like jamming with Zeppelin, Hendrix, Nirvana and Queen’s Of Stoneage… at an all night party in !!“

Sabatta’s goal is to make seriously good music! The type of music that inspired us as teenagers, that made the world seem a little less confusing and made us think – we’d really like to do that!

Sure we’re rock ‘n’ roll – we do the things you’d expect – intoxicated late nights and all that goes with them but we’re also introspective souls. Lyrically this is reflected through songs like “Go Round”, “Burnt” and “Guillotine” – but songs like “Princess”, (possibly our catchiest number!), which depicts a girl on a night (of many) out, though not as “deep” captures one of life’s many strands equally as acutely.

Musically you’re gonna hear molten riffs over grooves you just gotta move to and it’s this mix which we hope creates a unique blend. Though reminiscent of the likes of the Stoneage in places in places and Hendrix in others we think you’ll find our sound is all or own!

Then of course there are the vocals. Commented on by many the vocals could be considered the jewel in the Sabatta crown – soulful yet powerful and full of emotion this is what really makes Sabatta – along with those oh so groovy riffs!

Little bit of info - We just had a interview on Total Rock.com with and will be featured in the June Edition of Rock Sound as their “Hotshot!” out on May 11!

We’re going to be playing the Purple Turtle in on 16 May.
